Five Poems Promoting Mindfulness and Awareness of the Present Moment

A Brief Compilation of My Poems Contemplating Mindful Instances

For a number of years, I have been seeking methods to merge my enthusiasm for design with my affection for poetry. This compilation showcases some of my early endeavors, from a period when I presented my works under my birth name. Each poem contemplates mindful instances, advocating for small strides toward self-care and mindfulness.

One poem acts as a soft encouragement towards action, underscoring that even the tiniest gesture, like sipping a glass of water or taking medication promptly, can hold significance. It’s a pragmatic approach to inspiration, concentrating on deep breaths and striving for resolutions that bring tranquility.

In another piece, I adopted minimalism in design to resonate with the concept of accomplishing less. Composed during my hectic years, the poem was more aspirational than an actual reality, created during a 2018 cruise where I disconnected from the internet and savored the practice of unplugging.

A heartfelt poem extends the water symbolism, contemplating the calming retreat of drifting in a pool. Despite being distanced from my family, I’ve discovered comfort in cherished friends and learned to appreciate these rare tranquil moments.

A cautionary poem alerts to the simplicity with which presence can slip away amidst turbulent thoughts. It emphasizes the necessity of preserving mindfulness in the midst of life’s diversions.

During one morning commute in Maryland, I crafted a poem that encapsulated a transient moment of beauty. It was a step toward mindfulness, acknowledging small yet significant instances as integral to life’s fabric.

My poetry compilation is interwoven with my ongoing mindfulness voyage. Over the years, I’ve established a routine in meditation and yoga, with poetry acting as a reminder to value the seemingly ordinary yet profound moments that shape our existence.
