Verses Promoting Mindfulness and Awareness

Title: “Mindful Reflections: A Voyage Through Poetry and Presence”

For numerous years, I have been intertwining my passion for poetry with my fascination for design, exploring ways to capture instances of mindfulness in verse. This modest compilation of poems showcases some of my earliest endeavors, crafted during a period when I shared work under my maiden surname.

One poem acts as a gentle encouragement to take action, indicating that even the tiniest steps can hold great importance. Whether it involves self-care through an additional glass of water, timely medication intake, or any step in line with personal health objectives, these actions can be rejuvenating.

In another piece, I aimed for a more authentic form of motivation devoid of clichés. While comforting expressions may offer temporary relief, it is often through taking a deep breath and striving toward a solution that one can achieve true tranquility.

The understated design of one poem complements its theme of deliberate simplicity. Composed during a hectic chapter of my life, this piece expressed a desire for less rather than reflecting my actual state. Its inception originates from a 2018 cruise, during which detaching from the digital realm illuminated the essence of presence and attention in treasured moments.

Water symbolism persists in another poem, unveiling my fragility. Separated from most of my biological family, I have discovered comfort in fleeting instances of relaxation, such as drifting in a pool. This experience, infrequent yet powerful, remains a comforting reminder of serenity.

One poem cautions about the simplicity with which we can forfeit presence, yielding to disordered thoughts. It acts as a warning to stay rooted, enabling the mind to remain anchored in the current moment.

Inspired by morning journeys in Maryland, another poem captures ephemeral glimpses of beauty that often slip by unnoticed. It pays homage to mindfulness—taking a moment to relish the sun’s rays even amidst life’s tumult, acknowledging that these minor instances collectively weave the fabric of our existence.

My journey into mindfulness has been gradual, requiring years to establish a steady routine of meditation and yoga. Poetry serves as an additional instrument, reminding me to recognize the importance of small moments. Each line nudges me towards appreciating life’s gentle, yet significant, transitory experiences.
